Deonta Vaughn dropped 34 against UCONN, but two losses this week keep him out of contention for Player of the Week. Bamm-Bamm made a solid case, along with Seton Hall's Brian Laing, but K-Mac gets the nod for leading the road upset yesterday.

Marquette did beat us head-to-head, but unlike us they haven't proven they can win on the road. I might sneak Louisville in at 2nd, because when they've been healthy (other than a blip at an underrated Seton Hall squad) they've looked very good. Cincy also looks a bit high, and SHU a little low.

It's that time of year again: Home-cooking time!!!

Sorry man, but just a ridiculous ballot this week, as Pitt and Louisville are both better than ND right now and UConn had a shocking win vs Indiana that may have saved the conference's RPI. I know ND beat UConn and that's your reasoning, but 3rd is a bit much.

You may have been able to sell 4 or 5, but the road win has clearly clouded your judgement this week

Fair enough, that's why I post my ballot.

In my defense, ND was selected 3rd overall in the poll. However, I can certainly see your reasoning.

Here were my thoughts when voting: Pitt lost to Cincy (who we beat), 'Nova (who we beat), and Rutgers. They do have that win over Georgetown. Without those injuries, they would certainly be one of the top teams in the conference. However, our common opponent record is better and we have one fewer loss (having played one fewer game).

Louisville is even with us on the common opponents (W vs. Marquette, L vs. Cincy). Marquette has been playing poorly on the road (I am starting to expect a win in South Bend for the Irish) and the Cincinnati loss was at home for Louisville. Our two losses were road games against two of the best home teams.

As for UCONN, you hit the nail on the head. The away game is starting to look like a loss.

Anyways, that's my reasoning. I'm glad to have some disagreement because that's what makes a blog great. The bloggers as a whole pegged us third behind Louisville and ahead of Marquette. Go figure.
