Apologies

Rough weekend, as evidenced by my just finishing last night's post. Nothing more today, I'll see you all tomorrow.

EDIT: Louisville beating Pitt made me feel a little better last night. Yesterday's game was probably the most disappointing performance I've seen this year (obviously there is St. John's, but for different reasons). For as poorly as we played in overtime Monday, we played the Cards to a draw in regulation. We're a better team than we showed yesterday. The sky is still not falling and we will bounce back.

Don't be confused by the second paragraph. We still were terrible yesterday.

I hate losing to Syracuse.

Give me some hope for next Saturday. I am driving 6 hours from Pittsburgh to see the Irish take on UCONN. I know they are very good, but the Joyce should be rocking and we will be ready. Coming home should give us a boost, but damn is UCONN good....

This team needs a boot in the rear end. They act like they are tired. I guess the trips to Ireland and Hawaii really wore them down. That is a load of manure. Someone needs to remind them that they are extremely fortunate to be playing college basketball at ND. Brey saw plenty of guys their same age in a wartime situation when he went to Iraq. Ask him if the soldiers he coached - in between fighting a war - acted tired and played soft. Suck it up boys. You all signed up to be BE players - be a BE player. Get on the floor - knock somebody down-hit someone in the mouth with an elbow. When you see that you'll know that we have begun to course correct. Excuse my passion and hope that the boys pick some up. Too often they play like they are going through the motions.

I think the week off will definitely help. It's been a while since they've been able to get a few good hard practices in. Focus on the defense and come out to play Saturday.
