5 hours of sleep didn't change anything. Marquette (who shot 34% for the game against Seton Hall) made 63% of their attempts in the second half. That perfect storm of hot shooting and poor defense will beat you every time. Now we have to sit and watch as Marquette, Pitt, West Virginia, and Georgetown battle it out for the Big East crown.
Here's to good news on Selection Sunday.

In other words, finding out which 11- or 12-seed will beat us in the first round.
All five of our starters finished in double digits. We lost to a team that has been ranked most of the year? Can Louisville and UConn say that? Call me optomisitc but I still think we will be a four seed. Let the games begin!!
Four seed five seed who cares? Will we be ready to play when it really counts? We play so few players it should give everyone time to get rested. The league tournament always scares me that someone will get hurt playing back to back games. Its time to show that we belong being ranked among the best. That's how you gain the respect that we all wonder why we never have....
More of my reaction.

Forget about seeding. Our comments should focus on this team, and whether we can solve our weaknesses to enable a strong run into the tournament.
I see offensive rebounding as a consistent problem over the last few games. Hillesland, Jackson and Kurz need to re-focus on this.
Jackson "jacked" up too many outside shots against Marquett, IMO. He is the slasher/driver, either laying up the ball or kicking it out. McAlarney is the one to have the ball in his hands if we are going to jack it up from outside. I know Marquette blanketed him all night, but he still didn't get as many touches as I expected with Gody in foul trouble. His last fury of shots was phenomenal, and he was covered well. It seems when he misses his first couple, he doesn't keep jacking them up. I'd much prefer his outside touch to Jackson's.
As I mentioned on the other post, we're still a 4 at Bracket Project, so we didn't get too hurt by the loss. Still could drop depending on how teams below us finish in their conference tourneys, but not looking awful right now.
Golden Monkey- Definitely agree with your thoughts. I wouldn't mind watching this team play with a chip on its shoulder next week, but we have to bounce back from this one first. Obviously, seeding matters in terms of matchups, but we won't get anywhere if we don't play to our ability.
Andy- Good point about the offensive boards. Hillesland got us a bunch last night, but need to see Kurz crash the basket more. Obviously, having Harangody on the floor would help as well.
Certainly, Mac needs to be the outside threat, not Jackson. Tory was 4-14 so way too many shots for him. Kyle finished well, but needed to be more involved with Harangody off the floor. When both of those guys are on, we can play with anyone in the country. If one or both aren't their best, we really suffer.
