Louisville Preview

As much as I'd love to see this again, it's probably not going to happen. Luke Harangody will be a game-time decision.

Louisville-
Pomeroy Ranking- 26th
Record- 16-9 (7-5)
Best Win- Syracuse (ranked 5th)
Worst Loss- Western Carolina (ranked 170th)
Pomeroy Prediction- Louisville 84-74

Key Players-
#15 Samardo Samuels- 15.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG- He has the talent and strength to stay with Harangody if he plays. Without Luke, the Irish could struggle to stop him inside.
#10 Edgar Sosa- 13.0 PPG, 4.2 APG, 38.7% 3PA- Averaging double-digits for the first time since his freshman year. Didn't score in their loss to St. John's.
#34 Jerry Smith- 8.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 26.9% 3PA- Played a big role in wins over UCONN and Rutgers, but has disappeared lately. Shooting struggles are perplexing. He was a 41% guy beyond the arc a year ago.

Scouting Report-

For the first time since 2005, the Cards' offense is more efficient than its defense (10th ranked offense, 80th ranked D).
The defensive struggles have been mostly due to an inordinate amount of offensive rebounds given up, but they also get more than their fair share of second chances on offense.
Very rarely have shots blocked, but take too many three-point attempts for shooting such a low clip (32.7%).

I think every remaining ND game is on national TV, too.

ESPN doesn't even have us on the bubble watch anymore. We went from "first four out" to off completely in a span of seven days.

Yes David, when you lose 2 in a row, that happens. I dont get the confusion...

They still mentioned the Irish as a bubble team on Sportscenter and recapped the game on Sunday. I don't think the field is 96 teams just yet...

I didn't say, "I didn't get it."

It was more of an admission of how crappy a week we had.

Which probably means they will shoot 15 for 22 tonight from 3.

I hope they pull this out, but this is just proof of Brey's nincompoopness. Maybe if these young big guys got minutes against the lower dredges of the NCAA earlier in the year (we played all of them) they'd have some clue how to defend in the post, how the officials ref a close game in the paint, etc. Let's go irish.

I hate to complain about the refs, but we are getting absolutely homered!

We are much un-clutch team ever.

How many close games has Mike Brey lost in his career. To not even get a shot, Christ almighty!

On a side note, how come people have career days against us. I know without Harangody (this is another topic, dude you have 6 games to go in your college career, you can't even dress and give it a shot) we had no one to guard Samuels tonight, but the guy shoots 16-19 from the line. We never catch a break.

I applaud the team for playing hard, but man, this could have been a real nice win. Close doesn't count anymore.

Should read "THE MOST UN-CLUTCH."

Im too pissed to type correctly.
