Irish won, but LMU kept it closer than expected.IrishFan89https://www.blogger.com/profile/07600469458207090107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-88081576701374930062008-11-20T16:50:00.000-05:002008-11-20T16:50:00.000-05:00"Talk 'N Text Phone Pals" wasn't coached by Kelvin..."Talk 'N Text Phone Pals" wasn't coached by Kelvin Sampson?

*badda-boom*

Try the veal.MJenkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12761003604210840898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-15257816676243381562008-11-20T16:34:00.000-05:002008-11-20T16:34:00.000-05:00Bayno is a fantastic recruiter, thus the Vinson co...Bayno is a fantastic recruiter, thus the Vinson commitment in his first year. However, landing that kind of talent at a non-Gonzaga WCC school and his past history makes you wonder if something else is going on there...

In fairness, the Zags have significantly helped that Catholic school conference turn into a strong mid-major league and brought about the possibility for teams like Saint Mary's to rise from obscurity. Could LMU be the next program to turn into a national power in the WCC? Maybe, they have a coach with a strong track record, but the baggage he brings is scary.BlackandGreenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08973328610673633428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-19182510922184584522008-11-20T16:24:00.000-05:002008-11-20T16:24:00.000-05:00Remember Bill Bayno? The name rang a bell, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Bayno was the guy who ran the UNLV program when it was hit for recruiting violations in 2000. Since then, he has traveled from the ABA in Phoenix to the CBA in Yakima, with a stop in the Philippines coaching the "Talk 'N Text Phone Pals." How exciting.

He was also an assistant for the Trailblazers the last couple of years. He also worked under Carlesimo, Calipari, and Larry Brown in the 80s and 90s.BlackandGreenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08973328610673633428noreply@blogger.com
