Unfortunately, this season teams have learned to play off Tory a little at the top of the key. His defender sags into the paint and looks for help in order to take away the drive. This has led to a lower FG% from last year and dropped his scoring average from 7.8 to 7.1 despite playing more minutes a game.

He has such a great first step and driving ability that there is certainly potential there. He needs to either develop enough of an outside shot to make the defense step outside or grow 4 or 5 inches (his 5-10 frame leads to a lot of blocked shots in the paint).BlackandGreenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08973328610673633428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-3920337221008537342008-02-01T15:48:00.000-05:002008-02-01T15:48:00.000-05:00I think it's misleading to say Jackson has little ...I think it's misleading to say Jackson has little scoring ability...he's been a bit off this season and will certainly never be a big 3-point threat but he's demonstrated an ability to take it into the lane and finish in the past (e.g. GTown game last season).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-87222915130691543412008-02-01T11:18:00.000-05:002008-02-01T11:18:00.000-05:00Very fortunate. Brey will definitely have things to work on.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-15638401497637000732008-02-01T10:32:00.000-05:002008-02-01T10:32:00.000-05:00It really was amazing watching Hall miss all of th...It really was amazing watching Hall miss all of those free throws. I liked how leading up to this game he was 0-2 on the season.
I know they missed a bunch, but the PU three point shooters have seemingly limitless range. The last two in overtime must have each been from 25'+.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-87519137108047187792008-02-01T09:15:00.000-05:002008-02-01T09:15:00.000-05:00I can't say enough about Jackson & Harangody. Nice win, now we have to come back strong Saturday. DePaul will be ready.... Providence somehow started hitting the threes near the end (they were certainly due), but their overall lack of range hurt them dearly.

The Irish got to the line and used it well. Providence did not make as many trips and were unable to convert.

We were due for a game like this, but winning only builds momentum.BlackandGreenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08973328610673633428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37698030.post-58067111627471165232008-01-31T22:00:00.000-05:002008-01-31T22:00:00.000-05:00Even before your post has been submitted, I have t...Even before your post has been submitted, I have to say that the Irish won it from the free throw line (22 of 26?), and Providence lost it from . . . take your pick: the free throw line or the three point stripe. We were probably due for a game like this, and we survived. Tonight, the Joyce Center featured "Whole Friars" to be sure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
